The Chinese Grand Prix features a sprint race and should provide excellent entertainment. Here are our bets for the weekend. The post will be updated as we add more. Sprint race
Lando Norris to finish ahead of Oscar Piastri @ 3.27 (1 unit) (SBO)
Norris looked faster but messed up his final sector in sprint qualifying. He’s only starting three places behind Piastri, and with his raw pace advantage, it’s possible that he could finish ahead. We are backing him to do so at odds 3.27, but there’s value all the way down to 2.80 or so.
Lewis Hamilton to win the sprint race @ 3.75 (1 unit) (Pinnacle)
Hamilton took pole position for the sprint race. He will face strong competition from Verstappen, Piastri and Norris, but it’s more than possible that he could drive it home in first place. Strategy obviously plays a much smaller role in the sprint. It could be difficult for Lewis, but 3.75 is way too high for the pole sitter.
Race
Alex Albon to finish ahead of Fernando Alonso @ 1.65 (1 unit) (Bwin)
Alonso is usually strong in China, but the Williams is the better car – and Albon starts a few places ahead. Solid odds for Albon to win this matchup.
Gabriel Bortoleto to finish ahead of Jack Doohan @ 2.21 (1 unit) (SBO)
In a matchup between two rookies, we have slightly more trust in Bortoleto who was a great and consistent racer in F2. Doohan just makes too many mistakes.
Max Verstappen to finish on the podium @ 2.33 (1 unit) (Betfair)
Verstappen starts fourth, but he’s the best driver in racing. Norris hasn’t been thriving this weekend, and Russell is expected to drop down compared to qualifying. Verstappen should be able to challenge for the podium.
