Career analysis
Arvid Lindblad is the only new driver entering F1 at the start of the 2026 season. He takes Yuki Tsunoda’s place at Racing Bulls and is seen as ‘the Antonelli’ of the Red Bull Driver Academy – in other words, the best talent they have.
Despite fairly average results in the junior series – Lindblad won very little in F2, F3 and F4 – he is seen as a top prospect. Lindblad was a star in karting, and as we’ve seen with other recent drivers, F2 results don’t mean much anymore. Especially considering that Lindblad was put into these series at a very young age.
So it will be interesting to see where Lindblad stands. We already know he is great with tyre management, overtaking, and generally advancing in races. At just 18 years old, he is also has time to improve his skills in just about everything. The first focus should be to improve his setups and qualifying pace.
At Racing Bulls, he will have a fairly easy teammate in Liam Lawson. Lindblad is essentially expected to beat Lawson immediately. If he can do so, he will likely get a quick promotion to the main Red Bull team if they lose patience with Hadjar or if Verstappen simply decides to leave.
