Motorsport is one of the most thrilling sports in the world, and Formula One is the pinnacle of racing. F1 already provides plenty of excitement from a pure fan perspective, but betting can make it even more entertaining.
If you know what you’re doing, it’s also possible to earn some money from it. It’s difficult, and you must have the right strategy – but certainly possible, as outlined in the Formula 1 betting guide.
I like to bet on F1 – and I share free predictions every single race weekend here on the site!
But what are the best bookmakers for betting on Formula One?
The truth is that there are several good options – depending on where you live and the type of bets you want to make.
For me, some key factors are:
- Competitive odds
- Being able to place fairly high stakes
- No personal limitations after winning
- A nice betting platform
- Easy and safe deposits and withdrawals
Here’s a brief overview of the top Formula One bookmakers that I use (or have used in the past).
Pinnacle
The most serious bookmaker in the world – by far.
Sadly, Pinnacle is not available in every country, but if it is licensed in yours, it’s probably the best one to use for your F1 betting.
Pinnacle doesn’t have a lot of markets, but they do have H2H matchups between drivers and outright markets. And those are the best ones for serious, long-term betting.
They open the matchup markets 12-24 hours ahead of qualifying sessions, sprint races, and regular races. Their odds are often market-leading, and winning players are seldom limited. This attracts the best bettors in the world.
Market limits exist, though. When the market opens, you can usually stake up to 50€-60€ per bet. Then the odds will drop, and you can stake more.
If you wait until an hour before race start, limits are usually a bit higher, in the range of 300€-700€ depending
Check first if you can bet directly on Pinnacle. If Pinnacle is licensed in your country, it’s easiest to sign up with them directly.
If you cannot use the normal Pinnacle site, you may be able to access it through a broker such as Bet in Asia (I’m currently using this) or Sportmarket (I’ve previously used it, and it’s good too). In these cases, the broker will open an account for you at a white label site called PS3838 where they have all the same markets and odds as Pinnacle (including F1).
Alternatively, some crypto books like Cloudbet essentially copy Pinnacle’s odds for F1 matchups, so that’s another option. Let’s have a look…
Cloudbet
One of my favorite bookmakers because you don’t need to fill out too much information. In order to sign up, you just an email address and a password, then you’re ready to go.
Cloudbet has no KYC on deposits and withdrawals up to $2000 if you use cryptocurrency. Anything higher than that and you’ll have to add some more information to your profile and send in a digital photo ID.
I have been using Cloudbet for years and find it very safe and fair. They also have a great support crew. On some occasions, I’ve experienced that a bet was settled incorrectly, and after contacting the support, they quickly fixed it. So big respect for that.
Cloudbet only offers driver matchups, e.g., head-to-head selections between two drivers. They have the exact same markets as Pinnacle, but usually one click lower in terms of odds. For instance, if Pinnacle has odds 2.00 on a driver to win a matchup, Cloudbet will have odds 1.99.
That’s slightly worse, but Cloudbet is still a really good betting site if you don’t have access to Pinnacle or one of the Pinnacle-providing brokers.
SBO
SBOBET can be seen as an alternative to Pinnacle. It’s an Asian-style bookmaker with a clear focus on matchups.
The odds are some of the most competitive on the market, and there are usually around 20-30 matchups for each qualifying and race. Which is incredible.
Their market limits are a bit lower now they were a few years ago. But they are still decently competitive, and SBO usually doesn’t ban winners.
Sadly, SBO isn’t available in all countries. But if you do have access to SBO in your country, I highly recommend using this bookmaker for F1. In some cases, you can get a private SBO account through a bet broker.
Bet365
A great sportsbook with presence in most European countries and several states in the US. They have outrights, matchups, group bets and props for every F1 weekend.
Their odds rarely lead the market since their RTP is a bit lower than Pinnacle and SBO, but Bet365 often price their markets incorrectly, so value can be found.
Bet365 doesn’t limit your account as fast as other Euro-style sportsbooks (although they do limit arbs and abusers). So you actually have a chance to profit with them over time if you bet regular lines. Aside from Formula One, Bet365 has almost every other sport in the world. Having an account with them is very useful for a sports bettor, especially in the beginning.
Bwin
Of all the bookmakers on the market, Bwin probably has the largest variety of options in terms of F1. They provide countless F1 markets, not only H2H matchups, but also various other options, such as fastest pitstop, laps led, and various other props. Often they also have the most value bets of any F1 bookie.
So that’s great. If you have access to Bwin, it’s probably the best place to start.
The major downside is that they will limit you if you start winning too much money – an obvious issue. That’s also why Bwin is a great place to start. You can often find great value on their F1 markets, so you can build up your bankroll a bit, and after they limit you, just take your profits over to some of the serious bookmakers that allow winners.
Polymarket
This cryptocurrency prediction also provides Formula One markets. Usually, there are very few, but it seems like they are expanding a bit in 2026, with several outrights and many driver matchups for the race. The options are limited for qualifying and sprint races, and sometimes the markets lack liquidity.
But when conditions are right, the odds are extremely competitive and there’s no KYC if you use crypto! Polymarket is worth checking out if you prefer betting that way. If not, then stick with the classic bookmakers, but honestly, I’ve had a great experience using Polymarket.
Stake
You’re probably familiar with this bookmaker as it was the principal sponsor of Sauber for a few years.
Stake has actually evolved to be the largest bookmaker in the world (mainly due to attracting many Asian bettors).
It’s a bookie that is invested in F1, so naturally, you can find lots of betting options there every single weekend.
Stake allows you to bet with cryptocurrency as well as regular currencies, although you cannot do so anonymously like you can on Cloudbet or Polymarket.
However, they have really competitive odds and more markets than many of its competitors.
Surely it’s worth signing up, as long as you don’t mind going through KYC, which is required at Stake.
Betfair
This betting exchange does not have driver matchups, sadly.
But Betfair has the best outright markets if you want to bet on race winners, pole-sitters, podium finishers, point scorers, and more of that kind! It’s also a fun and dynamic platform to use, as you can trade in and out of your bets.
At Betfair, you’re not playing against the bookie – but against other punters. Betfair simply provides a platform and charges a commission, similar to Polymarket. They don’t ban players for winning, so you can essentially keep going forever with Betfair Exchange. It would be nice if they add driver matchups at some point, but for now, they are simply very good with outright markets.
More information
What is the best bookmaker for driver matchups?
Pinnacle (and its white labels), Bwin, Bet365 and SBO lead the pack in betting on driver matchups. But nowadays, most bookies offer these markets, so you’ll also find them on other sites. For example over at Stake, Sportsbet, and others.
What is the best sportsbook for F1 outrights?
Polymarket often has the best odds on the race winner. But you’ll also find great options on the Betfair Exchange, where you can bet on the pole sitter, fastest lap, podium finishers, etc. Bet365 should also be mentioned here.
What is the best live F1 bookmaker?
In terms of live betting, the F1 markets are a bit behind other sports. Most bookmakers have a very limited selection of betting options during the race (and various other sessions). Usually you can only bet on the winner of the race, and sometimes top 3 or top 10 finishers.
Your best choice is probably Betfair, as you can easily trade in and out of bets while the odds are competitive. Classic bookies like Bwin and Bet365 will have a larger selection of live options during F1 races, often superior for basic bets but less suitable for trading.
What is the best sportsbook for F1 in the US?
Bet365, BetMGM and DraftKings are present in many US states. These are serious books that offer F1 outrights, driver matchups and props. Newer options like Kalshi and Polymarket could come top options soon.
What is the best bookmaker for F1 in Europe?
From an overall perspective, Bet365 and Bwin are often the best choices. Especially for beginners. Polymarket if you use crypto. Also consider signing up with Pinnacle if possible, or a bet broker that can make a Pinnacle account for you.
